Project 75: Week 7 - Listening to My Body
Share
This week taught me an important lesson about adapting while staying committed to my goals. Despite the challenges that came with my period, I'm proud of the progress I made during Week 7 of my 75 Hard journey.
Working With My Body, Not Against It
One of the biggest revelations this week was learning to truly listen to my body. Instead of forcing myself through afternoon workouts when my energy was low, I shifted my training to evenings. This simple adjustment made a world of difference—giving my body the rest it needed during the day while allowing me to build up energy for effective evening sessions.
The result? I maintained my strength levels from the previous week and was able to continue lifting heavy without feeling excessively fatigued. This was a significant win that showed me adaptation doesn't mean giving up.
Managing Cravings
This week also tested my nutritional discipline. I definitely experienced stronger cravings than usual, and I'm grateful for my banana nut muffins that kept me on track! Without this planned option, I might have given in to eating "everything in sight." Having these prepared treats ready was a lifesaver for staying on plan.
Training Partner Motivation
The weekend brought a fun change to my routine as my cousin joined me for three days of workouts. She wanted to try out my gym, which perfectly aligned with my training schedule:
- Friday: Leg day
- Saturday: Core and cardio
- Sunday: Mobility and cardio
Training together added a social element that made the sessions even more enjoyable and kept me accountable.
Ramadan Begins
Saturday marked the beginning of Ramadan. While I don't personally observe this holy month, I want to extend warm wishes to all my Muslim followers and friends. If you're maintaining your training during Ramadan, I deeply admire your dedication.
For those training while fasting, remember to:
- Take it easy on yourself
- Focus on low-intensity workouts
- Prioritize rest and recovery
Looking Ahead to Week 8
As I move into Week 8, my focus is on maintaining the progress I've made while continuing to build strength. The finish line is getting closer—just two and a half more weeks until I complete this challenge! I'm incredibly excited to see what these final weeks have in store.
The journey has taught me so much about resilience, adaptation, and the importance of listening to my body while staying committed to my goals.
