Project 75: Week Three - Finding My Stride

Project 75: Week Three - Finding My Stride

As I wrap up week three of Project 75, I'm amazed at how quickly time is flying by. With week four on the horizon, I find myself more motivated and energized than ever, even as I navigate the daily challenges and adjustments this journey brings.

Training Evolution

This week marks an important phase in my training routine as I focus on maintaining my recent increases in weights and reps. My approach to progressive overload is deliberate and measured – I increase every two weeks rather than weekly. This strategy isn't about playing it safe; it's about playing it smart. By giving myself two weeks at each level, I can:

  • Perfect my form and technique
  • Build sustainable strength
  • Minimize injury risks
  • Ensure proper adaptation

To support this progression, I'm also increasing my protein intake. After all, proper nutrition is crucial for fueling these strength gains and supporting recovery.

Creative Consistency

The daily sketching requirement continues to be an adventure in itself. I'll be honest – some days, the creative well feels a bit dry, and finding inspiration can be challenging. But that's exactly what makes this aspect of the challenge so valuable. It's teaching me that creativity, like fitness, doesn't always flow naturally but needs to be cultivated through consistent practice.

The Morning Struggle Is Real

If there's one aspect that still presents a challenge, it's those early morning wake-ups. The cold mornings make leaving a warm bed particularly challenging. It's a humbling reminder that even three weeks in, some habits remain a work in progress.

Weekend Wisdom

I've learned to approach weekends with a balanced mindset. While maintaining the challenge's movement requirements through core, cardio, and mobility work, I'm also honoring my body's need for rest. My approach includes:

  • Allowing myself extra time in bed
  • Maintaining movement but at a gentler pace
  • Aiming for around 8,000 steps (compared to my weekday goal of 10,000+)
  • Focusing on recovery and rejuvenation

Lessons in Discipline

This challenge is proving to be much more than a physical transformation. It's reintroducing fundamental principles into my life:

  • Discipline in daily habits
  • Consistency in actions
  • Perseverance through challenges

These principles are creating positive ripples throughout all aspects of my life and wellbeing.

Growing Gratitude

Perhaps the most profound impact has been a deepened sense of gratitude. The simple ability to move my body has taken on new meaning. It's not just about exercise anymore – it's about acknowledging and appreciating this incredible gift we often take for granted. This growing awareness reminds me to approach my training with love and grace, treating my body as the blessing it truly is.

Looking Forward

As I step into week four, I carry forward these lessons and insights. The challenge is teaching me that true transformation isn't just about physical changes – it's about the mental shifts, the growing appreciation, and the daily commitment to showing up for yourself.

Here's to another week of growth, gratitude, and gaining strength – both inside and out. πŸ’ͺ✨
